39 podiums, overall crystal globe winner of the last season 2019-2020 in World Cup Alpine Ski… no words are needed
Federica Brignone was born in Milan on 14 July 1990. She is a daughter of Maria Rosa Quario, a former World Cup racer in the early 1980s who had four World Cup wins and 15 podiums, all in slalom. This being a fact, Federica had great genes to become the world-class ski racer.
Her home ski area is in the Aosta region, called La Salle, where she has as well her residence at the moment.
She made her debut in World Cup in December 2007 at age only 17 and her first full World Cup season was in 2010. Interestingly enough, at her first World Championship in 2011, Federica Brignone already stepped on the podium and won a silver medal in the giant slalom.
In her career so far, she stepped on the podium at the World Cup races already 39 times and has won 15 times.
Brignone won as well World Cup finals in Aspen in 2017, where a bouquet of Italian racers with Sofia Goggia and Marta Bassino on the throne.
At the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang Federica won the bronze medal in giant slalom, as being her first Olympic medal.
Federica Brignone has achieved her biggest success in the last skiing season 2019-2020, where she won the Overall World Cup and took home the crystal globe ahead of Mikaela Shiffrin and Petra Vlhova. With that achievement, Federica became the only woman to win the World Cup for Italy.
